Why? No one is forcing anyone to do anything. Polygon is saying "we want this to happen because people deserve representation," and game devs may or may not take that into consideration. No one has a gun to anyone's head.

But the idea that promoting diversity is forcing it is a flawed understanding of the situation. Nor is it only said by Polygon.

I never said they were the only ones saying it. the problem is that they are trying to tell devs to put for example black people in a game that takes place in an age in an area where there were no black people then for example. Also they call racism on historical accuracy.

Okay, as a historian, I can tell you that black people have been around in ancient and medieval europe as evidenced by archaeology and historical sources. So don't come at me with that shit because it's historically INaccurate.

The Witcher 3 is a fantasy video game with magic and shit. It doesn't need historical accuracy. And if it did, I can tell you as a MEDIEVAL historian that it veers way off with many other things other than the demographics.

It is based on Polish mythology. The magic is part of that. Black people aren't.

Why though? Who honestly gives a shit? I mean, so much of the etymology in the game is also based in British an Germanic stuff, that isn't Slavonic either.

Because it is something Polish people are passionate about. I am leaving all these discussions now. Over 30 people constantly going at me and quote tweeting to make sure only their followers who follow the same beliefs see it so only one side goes at me.

Well then the population of Poland can tweet at me then. But video games can and do derive from many sources, like TW3.

I doubt that it's a faithful representation of Polish folklore, tbh.
