Why? No one is forcing anyone to do anything. Polygon is saying "we want this to happen because people deserve representation," and game devs may or may not take that into consideration. No one has a gun to anyone's head.

But the idea that promoting diversity is forcing it is a flawed understanding of the situation. Nor is it only said by Polygon.

You want certain things in games, yes? Well so do they, and you all have the right to ask for them. But consider that the majority of video games cater to straight white men, heavily.

Actually, statistically speaking women aged 18-35 make up a large portion of the gaming audience. Those are stats found easily online.

and MEA didn't flop because it tried to cater to wider audiences. ME3, Dragon Age Inquisition, and several other games have done the same and did incredibly well. MEA had a whole host of issues that had nothing to do with diversity.

No, it had poor animations and modelling due to the rushed nature of the game, not because they had some non-white folks in it.
