You’re right, so women and minorities should have more representation in media than they did then.

They should not force the representation. People are free to put them into games but the moment you try to force someone into something, it's too far.

Why? No one is forcing anyone to do anything. Polygon is saying "we want this to happen because people deserve representation," and game devs may or may not take that into consideration. No one has a gun to anyone's head.

But the idea that promoting diversity is forcing it is a flawed understanding of the situation. Nor is it only said by Polygon.

I never said they were the only ones saying it. the problem is that they are trying to tell devs to put for example black people in a game that takes place in an age in an area where there were no black people then for example. Also they call racism on historical accuracy.

Okay, as a historian, I can tell you that black people have been around in ancient and medieval europe as evidenced by archaeology and historical sources. So don't come at me with that shit because it's historically INaccurate.

The Witcher 3 is a fantasy video game with magic and shit. It doesn't need historical accuracy. And if it did, I can tell you as a MEDIEVAL historian that it veers way off with many other things other than the demographics.

You could, theoretically, since Vikings traded with the Chinese. Japan was very insular, literally. Anfd China had a lot of links with the Muslim world so you could see someone named Ahmed.
