      1) Unlike most other fibers it will still keep you warm when it's wet, and it even gives off heat as it dries. Because sheep love you.

      2) Stand too close to a fire in synthetic fabrics and they will burst into flame and/or melt into your skin. Not wool!

In fact wool only burns as long as flame is applied to it. Your wool sweater is the best thing for making smores, because sheep love you.

      3) If you're lucky enough to know a fleece washer who will leave some lanolin on there for you, the yarn will make a water resistant garment

      4) That same waxy coating, left intact, has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, so your sweater won't mildew.

      5) Wool is strong! It can be bent 20,000 times without breaking. In contrast, rayon can only take 75 bends.

      6) Unlike synthetic fibers, wool holds its shape. Sweater get weirdly stretched? Wet it down, lay it flat, push it back into shape, done.

Remember, sheep love you and want you to be happy. So they've provided you with wonderful fiber to keep you warm and safe.

PS - most commercial processing, including dyeing, is very harsh on wool and strips the magical lanolin away entirely. It's very sad.

I highly recommend learning to clean a fleece by gentler methods, spin it up, and then create your own garments. It's magic!

I'd love to find some natural wool around here.
