I've always been told that people in Paris are aloof and rude but I've only encountered very friendly people here.

Everyone I've talked to has been very accommodating with my bad French. But I made the effort to speak some because why wouldn't I?

that was my experience in Paris as well - and if I was REALLY struggling they'd often help out in English

yeah they seem to sense that I am not good at speaking French so they switch to English pretty quick haha.

I went with school trip - watched them refuse to speak English w kids who didn't speak French. Was kind of hilarious.
