@AdmiralHip yeah, purity seems to be less of a concern for Celts, maybe? A lot of the animal & material sacrifices look like sharing.
@civilwarbore it's hard to know, the Bronze Age "Romans" left few traces. I suspect they always had a thing about the dead though.

@civilwarbore festivals of the dead, the gods associated with death, etc. in both Greece and Rome, seem to be some of the oldest stuff -
