Related: the lack of concern or care that people who submit their PhDs and need the library to do corrections but are unable to do so because it’s a global pandemic is embarrassing and infuriating. No effort has been made to help me in my situation after flagging it with ppl.

And I refuse to contact the GSU because our current president has me blocked on Twitter. So if that’s the way that she treats postgrads (current or outgoing) who disagree with her, then I’m not going to ask what she can do.

I doubt she will be able to do anything anyway.

But this policy from
@tcdlibrary where once we submit then we can’t take out books anymore is punitive and unnecessary anyways. During a pandemic it’s extremely irresponsible and short-sighted.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likesShow this thread -
I remember being told I didn’t have to be in Ireland for my viva because it would be virtual. But I would have had to be here anyway so I can physically go to the library with poor COVID mitigation policies.

These policies being that you have to change desks and go outside every hour to minimize contacts? But it’s not based on any actual science from what I can tell.

@PhDRights are you all aware of this problem? This is a serious issue with health and safety implications.1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -
Replying to @AdmiralHip
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will try to highlight this issue as much as possible. It really shows a lack of consultation & awareness of PhD concerns in college!
