Just a thought but why are some Irish institutions that teach Old English & early English history hell bent on perpetuating the "Anglo-Saxon" superiority myth? Thinking of Trinity and UCD. Some of the other institutions are doing MUCH better, but I can't wrap my head around that.pic.twitter.com/GEV5TACgGz

For Irish scholars to buy into that colonizing bullshit is really bizarre. Is it a class thing? Is it just that it's code for 'wyte' now and so it advances them? What is it? Has there ever been a BIPOC scholar specializing in early England come out of there? Just wondering.

You'd think they wouldn't need convincing but they seem so antiquated. They don't give a shit about historical accuracy or anything else. I think this weirdly is connected to their wyteness too. I will have to think about this more but there's def something odd going on.
