So all of this has been particularly hard, because I was forced to get an extension on my PhD and had to go further into debt. I got a small stipend towards the end of my PhD but it was not enough to cover the living expenses I’ve had since September.

I have been active on Twitter and other online spaces because social media is the only feasible place for me to interact with those who aren’t my family/boyfriend.

It is frustrating then to be attacked for my activity on Twitter by a senior academic who is also very active on Twitter, as if it is okay to say or do whatever you want as long as you have tenure at a university.

He is claiming that his words are being distorted and that he is justified because I “doxxed” a sex worker. I did not dox anyone. I have never revealed the name or location of anyone for malicious means. I have never lied about him either, I have only ever shown his own words.pic.twitter.com/nDVIPgUpcL

These sorts of hateful comments are what I have to deal with. My GP agreed that I have ADHD based upon an assessment I had with her, but legally I must get a diagnosis from a psych before I can get an official dx.pic.twitter.com/nTZWXUQNJF

I got diagnosed with ADHD during the pandemic. I'd be happy to talk about how I got a diagnosis and treatment relatively quickly? DM me?

I’m based in Ireland, and I have done the research. It’s both a question of cost and finding a psych that will see me over video that will also recommend an ADHD diagnosis. Getting diagnosed as an adult is very difficult in Ireland, many will only diagnose children.

I do think PsychiatryUK see anyone from anywhere in the world, it just so happens that the diagnosis appointment would cost £360, rather than free on NHS. But they are video-based so if you do happen to get access to funds, I'd recommend.

I will probably go through a psych in Ireland so I can establish a link here. It would also likely be less than £360, but its still expensive.
