I never understood why people care tbh. Surely they're interested in the information, not how someone happens to look on a given day?? I think it would actually humanise experts to be seen in normal clothes, rather than be seen as "academic elites" or whatever

My favourite experts are the ones I can meet at a social event tbh, whether it's a pub, café, rave etc... I remember standing out so much in my meetings with the provost and various committees, but i suppose I'm privileged enough to get away with it too
