Really need white anthopologists, archaeologists, and historians to stop referring to religious people in W. Europe as 'shamans'. Stop using Indigenous terminology like that. It's irresponsible and inaccurate.

It’s a Tungusic-derived word but I believe it is Evenki, not Manchu. Might be wrong.

Also just want to say: Manchurian is a very VERY outdated term, linked to Japanese imperialism in China.

Agreed. I read that the current Chinese government also hates that term, preferring instead the bland and quite ahistorical "northeastern china" for cultural homogenization and territorial integrity reasons.
