2/2 book and craft fairs, publisher activities, events, and high quality networking facilities. We think delegates will find this to be far more than just another Zoom meeting! So you didn’t develop your own software like you said as a justification for costs. What exactly are our funds going to? There should be a transparent breakdown. Also, many conferences have been more than just Zoom meetings as well. They were still free/cheap.

We committed to sourcing a platform that could cope with the IMC's unusually large and complex programme. There are many available, & we found building our own system would be considerably more expensive! Regarding what fees pay for, here is a breakdown: https://www.imc.leeds.ac.uk/imc-2021/imc-2021-frequently-asked-questions/#3 …

A specific breakdown as to what everything in that £75/£120 pays for, not just a list of things that you do need to pay for in general.

And frankly the fact that no one can get a day pass anymore is also worse. Not everyone can commit to a 5 day conference to get their money’s worth.

The IMC is self-financing and must cover all of its own costs through registration fees. This means that fees each year must cover staffing costs, proposal processing, platform licensing costs, virtual session support, and other items listed. 1/2

2/2 We regret the loss of day passes, but hope that the ability to view recordings of all sessions via the secure platform after IMC week is over is some consolation for those who have other commitments over the 5 days.

Again I know there are costs, what I am asking for is specific numbers and I think transparency is crucial more than ever during a global pandemic when people’s funding has run out or became inaccessible and people have lost work etc.

Are these recorded sessions going to be free to access? Or are there fees associated with that too?

Access to all recordings is included in the registration fee and session recordings will be available until 31 August. See here for more info: https://www.imc.leeds.ac.uk/imc-2021/imc-2021-frequently-asked-questions/#10 …

So then people who can’t attend because you got rid of your day passes can’t watch the recordings. So it’s not a solution.
