Kenney apologizes for the long answer. Next question (missed reporter name), about timelines for this case. How long do you expect this to take, and do you expect an appeal on the carbon tax? Kenney says around six months, that's how long it took for the carbon tax challenge.

On the Supreme Court challenge, could be in March. Kenney expects the challenge will be appealed one way or another, either from Alberta or the feds. Madu says yes, that is correct, about six months to deliver a judgment.

Kenney says due to COVID, we cannot balance the budget in two years. But they can maintain the line on spending, and it has been a long time since a government said "no". (Like to public sector unions)

Next question (three more coming).
@CBCRaffy asks about the racist rally in Edmonton, and why did it take so long for you to release a statement? Kenney says, first of all, he doesn't want to make a habit to attack protests that attack him. (I think he has attacked enviro ones)1 reply 3 retweets 14 likesShow this thread -
Kenney says we have freedom of speech and assembly. Knows there are people who oppose the COVID measures. Says they waited until Monday to look further into the disturbing imagery from the rally, after reporter queries.

Kenney says that was when they became aware of racists in the event. This was all WIDELY reported through the weekend. Kenney says he doesn't know "where the heck" groups like Soldiers of Odin come from. (It's Alberta)

Kenney says people who were just at the rally to protest the public health measures, but weren't aware of all the racists, THEY are the ones who need to denounce the actions. Not him.
