It gets me how this article confirms how readily we dehumanize the homeless and ascribe the worst possible motives to them. I saw this a LOT while working at the food bank in my hometown. Her discomfort with a strange man greeting her is valid. Using her platform like this? No.
Homeless people DO see and hear what’s printed and said about them, how they’re perceived. I can’t imagine how that must feel, especially if this dude genuinely DIDN’T mean to be creepy. I don’t wanna invalidate her feelings here but yikes man.
