a lot of this is part of a trend where BIPOC scholars are either sidelined for white scholars to talk about this stuff and also where a lone BIPOC scholar is hired to a department to take on the entirety of race studies, diversity initiatives, etc. that is too much for one person

so you get experts passed over and also young scholars who have massive work loads dumped on them with no support from their majority white departments.

I also think that if you're a lecturer with material in your module about race, whether it's the focus or just a lecture or two, then adequate resources need to be provided to your TAs on this.
