I knew a dude who railed against brunch as a bourgeoisie thing which I thought was so absurd given how many poor and working class people I know who in fact have brunch.https://twitter.com/jacobin/status/1353371986932756480 …

Like you can apply this to eating out in general wrt the exploration of those who work in the food industry and overpriced restaurants.

This article seems to make the opposite point though that brunch is somehow a worker paradise that rails against the 40 hour work week but counterpoint: it is literally just a meal and shit is not that deep.

Articles like these just solidify my hate for the Jacobin tbh and it makes me wonder why we can’t have decent socialist publications.

Also can I point to the weirdly patronizing language of socialists promising workers things and that we gotta bring people who hate brunch into the fold as if workers are not also socialists? Not all of them are obvs but...what.

I mean I think the point they are trying to make is that we should rail against the tyranny of the work week which I agree with, but making brunch and those that eat it to be either class traitors or praxis is just the most bonkers thing.
