I hate this new world order where I'm not allowed to use the term 'Anglo-Saxon'. Every time I want to write a lazy general sweeping statement I have to stop and think about what I actually mean. This is so unfair.

I hate when I'm writing a sentence and I want to write a sweeping statement about 'Anglo-Saxon women' but what I actually mean is about a specific elite subset of women who were Abbesses in the centuries following the conversion period and I have to say that. Eats my word count

yeah I really dislike having to be specific about East Anglian burial versus Northumbrian burial practices instead of some general meaningless "anglo-saxon" burial rite when actually burial rites were on a continuum and varied across time and space and cannot be limited
