Are you not aware that salt can be mined from the ground? The salt we eat and season food with doesn’t come from the contemporary oceans

A lot of salt in Europe is derived from maritime sources still - Maldon and Anglesey salt widely available in UK supermarkets and Guerande salt available in French ones. And are you not aware of brine wells? One of the key ways Romans accessed inland salt in Britain...

Standard salt grinders in Ireland are for sea salt. If I wanted table salt then I’d need to buy a massive box but honestly sea salt is much more common.
