I LOVE birdwatching. My mom bought me some binoculars last year because she knew it was something I was getting into. I’m just annoyed that all the good spots near me are usually packed with people haha.

omg yes!! feel free to tell me about cool birds you spot. My mom was REALLY into birds [and butterflies] and when I was a kid she used to do a lot of volunteer work at this nature center called Birdsong. I have her binoculars now and it sort of feels nostalgic to go out w them!

I've found one good spot that I have returned to a few times. I'm still new to the area and scoping out the hip bird places!

Good idea! Urban spaces can be good, there were two hooded crows up my street that were fun to watch.

do you use the Merlin app? I feel like they should add a social feature so you can share birds with friends.

I don’t, I dunno if it works worldwide? If it can ID birds in Ireland though maybe I’ll give it a go.

oo good point! It looks like it will let me download a regional pack for "Britain and Ireland" or the entire "Western Palearctic" but I can't attest to it's efficacy.
