A lot of it neglected to understand the specific difficulties with assimilation and such in America, and a lot of it was directly fabricated but in the end, the narrative was so controlled by the other side that no matter what we said, or what my friend said, it didn’t matter.

She definitely made it out to be a medieval twitter v her, although the scholar in question isn't a medievalist, and nor are many who were involved and also attacked.
