Look everyone. Pull out your bingo cards. "Bully" "I know it all" "Attacking" Correcting isn't attacking.https://twitter.com/ZeePDX/status/1336664441232867332 …

He was aware of the argument, but wasn't clear because you were already attacking so hard it was difficult to follow your stance. I've been in academia long enough to know your type though. Enjoy your adrenaline rush from being a bully 🙄

You harassed in bad faith for hours never acknowledging any engagement with the issue. And if people want to engage in a discussion today, let's try this one:https://www.thedigradio.com/podcast/identity-power-and-speech-with-olufemi-taiwo/ …

"Harassed." No one told you to keep responding and not answering simple questions. You kept digging your heels in and several medievalists corrected you. Point out where anyone "harassed" you.

You still have not explained why you think it is appropriate to teach Jutes as a tribe when they exist in a single religious reference.

I never said that I thought it was appropriate to teach Jutes as a tribe when they exist in a single religious reference. Why on earth would I explain something I didn't say?

I mentioned Jutes since Bede mentions them. He’s our only source aside from the laws before the ninth century. You can’t use “7th c Bede” as evidence and then discount him when WE use him. Anyone who studies the medieval period knows that we have to rely on paltry evidence.

“Single religious reference” Bede is quite literally the only way anyone can even begin to understand the period. He obviously isn’t perfect, but this isn’t a poorly written hagiography, it’s still meant to be a history.

You said in another tweet that historiography is your speciality, well, it’s ours too. Feel free to show where you have engaged with the problem of Anglo-Saxon. Because your whole podcast isn’t on that. And again, if you care then read Oosthuizen’s work as you clearly have not.
