Trying to remember what I learned because it was all so fascinating... Is there a thing where it wasn't very transmissible human to human but had to build up a big bacterial load in rats first, then a flea could end up with enough to infect someone?

And I think there was something about a specific type of flea that could survive just long enough on the grain in a shipment if all the rats died on the way!
