Frankly I am very upset that @tcddublin is considering in person classes next term, in particular for tutorials and seminars. Putting PhDs and students at risk in classrooms that have no space to spread out. The situation will not be better in 2021.

Chances are there will be another rise in cases over Christmas because of the relaxed rules, and we’ll be forced to lock down again. We have kept cases low
@tcddublin because we have not had in person teaching.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
Also, we literally have had cases on campus, in teaching environments, at TBSI. So tell me how we’re going to avoid those? This is scary and upsetting, and if I am forced to teach F2F then I just won’t. Not putting myself at risk for that.

I can’t believe that
@tcddublin@SimonHarrisTD@pjprendergast have not learned that spending an hour in cramped rooms even while masked is unsafe. We know the virus is airborne.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread
Instead why aren’t we putting funds into a more robust mental health service? Paying for training for online teaching? Until the majority of people are vaccinated, teaching in person will not be safe.
