I am worried about this from the perspective of the fact the incubation period is longer than the test, combined with false negatives, so someone could still be sick but not know it if they contracted it on the flight.https://twitter.com/WestJet/status/1319326811235508227 …

Beginning November 2, eligible travellers arriving from international destinations to Calgary can take a rapid test for COVID-19 and possibly reduce their mandatory quarantine to as few as 2 days with a negative test result. https://ms.spr.ly/6010TNYAA  pic.twitter.com/uYnuX5vNHt

So this seems...idk. I like the idea of getting tested, but I still don’t feel comfortable with leaving quarantine or having people leave it if their initial test is negative. Plus, the press conference said they can only leave quarantine if they get a second negative test.

Avoiding high risk groups then relies on personal responsibility but what happens when people don’t stay away from older relatives because they think they are safe?

Like what happens when a superspreader tests negative, then negative again, but then develops the illness on day 10 - 14? That will be REALLY BAD. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking I'll get the tests if I can but still quarantine. Not putting anyone at risk if I can

Yes I am planning on going back to Canada for December. And yes I will be extremely careful. My idea of a risky activity is getting takeaway coffee while masked up and drinking it after sanitizing everything away from other people.

Flights are risky, I know, so that's why I'm going back for about 5 weeks so I can isolate and basically not do anything risky so I can see my family for the first time in a year.
