This always happens when I want the best translations of Early Irish legal texts honestly. I paid for a beat up version of Kelly's Audacht Morainn in undergrad and I'm so lucky I found one for a reasonable price.

If I can't get it through the public library I will. I had the idea to take that WEIRD theory the NYT was promoting a bit ago again and try and compare it to texts like the Cain Lanamna. Thought that might be interesting.

Unfortunately there aren’t many books online, even the recent editions BUT the ancient laws of Ireland is on http://archive.org and you can DM me for other stuff that I might have.

I have a fair personal library actually, I'm punching above my weight as a precious BA in that particular subfield. My undergrad university required original research for history majors and I looked comparatively at kinship and clientage in legal and wisdom-texts.

Precocious. That's an embarrassing typo. I'm often pretty intimidated by the quality of scholars I follow and who talk with me given I couldn't apply to grad school for health/financial reasons.

Dude I have two degrees and getting a third and I still can’t spell a lot of the time, it’s okay. Anyone who gets pissy at you about spelling errors is a jerk.

It's not a spelling issue, I've got academic tone down just fine. It's more I'm just in awe of the quality and depth of research. Especially when dealing with the world's bullshit. Right now I'm more of a guy who reads academic articles for fun?

Honestly my strongest stuff was in Poli Sci so I constantly question when I do history stuff. Imposter syndrome is wild.

It's a bit odd because I knew I loved history first, but I've presented at 3 academic conferences in Poli Sci and none in history.
