I do have remote access but my university doesn't license a lot of the stuff I need. Medieval history isn't exactly a priority for many places in the states

Great news, though
@HalstedMedieval University of Virginia appears to have a digital copy in their library catalogue!1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

Yes, I’d missed that before tweeting — I’d checked for the same book some months back and we didn’t have it at that point. More to the point, with your thread about how I should be willing to shell out for academic books if I need them, I ask again: with what income?

I obviously haven't put myself well. I don't think I ever said or expected that you should. But I hope you have what you need now?

I was referring to
@RobJonesHistory with that question. But yes, I do have what I need. I'm just rather confused because at the beginning of the pandemic there was a spirit of camaraderie and sharing on academic twitter with needed materials.1 reply 0 retweets 6 likes -
Our conditions haven't changed, so why has that?

Erm please could you all lay off
@CanaryCaroline who is simply pointing out that she and others put a lot of work into producing high quality academic books.1 reply 0 retweets 7 likes -

We owe her the same sense of camaraderie too.

Chris was trying to find a book in a pandemic only to get some passive-aggressive tweets. I think that the people with PhDs and jobs should lay off the grad students who are struggling the most right now.

No one is saying that people don’t put in work at publishing houses, but this is a pandemic and grad students don’t have money or resources right now.

So basically this thread has someone telling off a grad student, someone weirdly looking up their library to show Chris that his library has the book, and someone else coming in to defend the initial person, oh and I see the people who are liking the replies here.
