Incredibly disappointed @tcddublin @tcdglobal has scheduled consecutive online and face to face classes despite @tcdsu’s best efforts.
Students are not provided with spaces on campus to participate in these online classes and do not have the skill set required to teleport.

Trinity doesn't have the space to keep students, TAs, and staff safe. I can tell you that from a PhD perspective, we are not getting paid enough to teach face to face. It is dangerous. Trinity should have been planning for mostly online this whole time.

Pushing for more face to face is ridiculous when we see what's been happening in the States and UK. It just isn't safe. The classrooms are small, cramped, poorly ventilated, and without 100% mask compliance that makes it worse.

However it is entirely ridiculous that Trinity expects students to be F2F and then online. You're right that there just isn't space for it. Which is why this should all have been online from the beginning. Then students wouldn't also have to be in accommodation.

I understand. I am a neurodivergent person also. But please also know that many students, including myself, and staff are very afraid at the opening plans and the lack of transparency. Mental health supports are necessary at this stage.

Because while F2F is very important, it just isn’t safe. Not when others are able to flout mask rules and with the classrooms being as they are.

I totally understand. The mental health supports at TCD were already under strain. I’m not sure how they are being improved. We apparently have had money from the government for it but who knows what it will look like.

It’s a difficult situation, and I think a lot of the issues are made worse by the lack of transparency and uncertainty.
