i used to use a pastry cutter cos i have hot hands, then arthritis made my shoulders and elbows impossible so now i always use frozen butter and a chilled grater, and my pastry is perfect every time.

For me the pastry cutter is easier than a grater which is easier than a fork. But they all suck because hands are bullshit.
