@tcddublin @pjprendergast we all deserve to have testing, not just the people who live in uni residences. And honestly, how many postgrads live in residence @GoddessGuide @AbhiswetaBhatt1? We have to come into campus, and many need to use public transportation.

Hi
@AdmiralHip I can clearly read your concerns. The introduction of regular screening will be on a pilot basis first. However, I have asked at a meeting that postgraduates who carry out physical teaching and demonstrating and those in HS be also included alongside academic staff1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

The email said that those who live off campus will not be tested, and that it only may be introduced in the future. This isn't an issue of who is considered staff, unless the email is incorrect and that all academic staff are able to get tested.

This initiative is ongoing
@AdmiralHip and is being very carefully monitored by@orla_sheils the Dean of Health Sciences. You are clearly concerned because you’re going to be physically teaching this term. Email me at president@tcdgsu.ie and I’ll try to find solutions for you.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I personally won't be teaching in person because my department has more sense. But my concern isn't for myself. It is for the lecturers in my department who have to teach F2F, and for people I know and are close to in other depts who are forced to also.

I don't want you to find solutions for me, Gisele, I want you to find solutions for everyone to keep them safe. We all need more transparency from you and the rest of the GSU on this. You need to be coordinating with departments over reopening plans.

There is a very wide range in how reopenings are happening in different schools, and it is very worrying. People do not feel safe, they feel afraid and upset because no one knows what's going on and no one will tell them anything.

Everything feels considerably more secretive now, when we should be aware of what's going on even more than before.

The email received today from
@tcddublin is the result of months of planning by the Director of Trinity Health and the Dean of HS and a group which includes the SU & GSU President. If it helps... I see everyone working flat out@AdmiralHip to try and ensure UG PG and staff safety2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

It would have been nice then to have some direct communication over the last three months over what has been planned or what’s been done. Again, very little has been communicated to us at large.

I don’t doubt that there have been meetings. But it is clear to me from just talking to staff in my school as well as hearing about stuff in other schools there are many problems that still exist and the term starts soon.

Again, I urge you to speak directly with MPhils and PhDs across schools to get a sense of the worries here. I have communicated what I can, and it seems very clear that no one wants to listen or give direct answers.
