We just got an email from our university that says that there will be a program in the next few weeks to do mass testing of staff and students...who only live in campus/uni accommodation. Which I do not think actually accounts for most of the population who work/study there
The email said that those who live off campus will not be tested, and that it only may be introduced in the future. This isn't an issue of who is considered staff, unless the email is incorrect and that all academic staff are able to get tested.

And we have no specific timelines here either. So when they say it may be introduced, when is that? November? February? I want to be very clear that I do not feel safe, nor do I feel my colleagues are safe, and your lack of transparency and communication regarding this
-
is not okay. There remain so many problems. I keep shouting into the void about face visors, problems with enforcing masks and distancing in classrooms, and a consistent lack of communication from both the GSU, SU, and college.

This initiative is ongoing
@AdmiralHip and is being very carefully monitored by@orla_sheils the Dean of Health Sciences. You are clearly concerned because you’re going to be physically teaching this term. Email me at president@tcdgsu.ie and I’ll try to find solutions for you. -
I personally won't be teaching in person because my department has more sense. But my concern isn't for myself. It is for the lecturers in my department who have to teach F2F, and for people I know and are close to in other depts who are forced to also.
