Doing my checklist for assuming-lockdown. I need to replace my trainers which is fine, I'll just re-order what I'm wearing soon. But I also need to get winter boots. On my cursed feet. Without trying on 8 shops. This is going to take a Christmas miracle.

(I'm not looking for recs or anything - I've just got funny shaped feet and usually getting new footwear involves marathon treks, praying, cursing, and trying to break things in very carefully. So this could be... interesting.)

I hear you, my feet are so weird and finding shoes that don’t completely make me bedridden the next day...bleh.

They're so frustrating! I was heartbroken when one year I finally saved up to get proper Docs, instead of knockoffs, and found they just did not fit my feet. I had to sell them on.

Oh man I shed a lot of tears over a pair of beautiful docs my mom got me years ago that I ended up not being able to wear. I wanted them so bad. Still makes me sad.

I will say that I saved up and got a pair of Timberlands last winter and they have been amazing, and I was very pleased (but I need inserts for them).

I wish I knew what I had in high school - I wore them 5 years straight and they survived horses, beer barrels, hiking, everything. But I got them at an outlet shop that doesn't exist any more and had all kinds of odd pairs, so I will never know!

They haunt me! This was the problem with outlet/catalogue shops - great bargins and you could never find them again. Ever.
