Putting staff and TAs (who are students, by the way) at risk? Even with this ridiculous face visor thing, which aren't masks by the way, and do not stop the spread? Good to know.https://twitter.com/TCDSU_President/status/1302895149974945792 …

I know students want on campus teaching. But these aren't normal times and what
@tcddublin SHOULD be doing is pushing for as much safety as possible. Instead, its full steam ahead apparently. But really glad to know that@TCDSU_President thinks that TAs are worth the risk.Show this thread -
I think it is insulting, offensive, and very frustrating that no matter how much we keep saying that the reopening plans don't make us feel safe, not even our unions will listen. What do
@GoddessGuide@AbhiswetaBhatt1 have to say about this?Show this thread -
1. Face visors are NOT MASKS. What's going to happen when an asymptomatic person wearing a face visor infects people who aren't wearing masks/wearing them properly? The virus is airborne.
@GoddessGuide@AbhiswetaBhatt1Show this thread -
2. TAs should be getting paid more for hazard pay, since we are literally being put at risk for this and no one seems to care about that. How about those who have to sanitize surfaces? Sanitation is a full time job, and TAs should be compensated.

3. How about students who refuse to wear masks, as they are apparently doing in the library already, and what are TAs supposed to do about that?
@GoddessGuide@AbhiswetaBhatt1Show this thread -
4. Why aren't we being kept in the loop on this stuff via email? Why is it when something as inconsequential as free hot water nets us 4 emails a week when
@goddessguide was the GSU VP but when there is a pandemic we get...very little?@AbhiswetaBhatt1Show this thread -
We should not have to REQUEST information. It should be provided and we should be kept in the loop as a matter of course. We have not.
