I mean that’s the plan, but I wouldn’t want to search forever for a job on the grad scheme work visa only to then have to look for another that would sponsor me. Plus I’m apprehensive about that grad scheme visa, apparently a lot of employers will not hire on it.

I already had a part-time job when I got it. It kept me from being deported. So I can't help with that.

Yeah I mean, I need to get it because I don’t want to be forced to leave. But my chronic pain limits what types of jobs I can do as well, so even getting a part time job somewhere is stressing me out.

That's the best plan. Please be a good neighbor and bake me pies.

Yes, this is the most competitive job on the market down there. Good luck to all who apply!

There's a good name there as well. Dr AF, expert, anti-racist, and pies

I think we derailed Catherine's good question. Sorry
@AdmiralHip. If anyone has good tips for her let her know, so she doesn't have to resort to pie-baking for a greedy anti-racist medievalist.1 reply 1 retweet 3 likes
haha thanks. I know it’s tough out there. I was basically just wanting to find resources specifically on non-academic work for PhDs. History may be too specific here, idk. Wading into the job market after this is daunting.
