Is there a good resource on alt-ac jobs in Ireland for history PhDs?
Ah I thought it had to be only Irish citizens. But yeah still not applicable for me. Private sector I have experience in from when I lived in Canada so I know how to navigate that to a degree.

Problem w/ private sector in Ire is that, except for big multinationals + shortage areas (tech, finance), it largely operates still on word of mouth, connections and networks, even at entry level. In many cases, as Yan said, you're kinda just shooting in the dark

I know getting a job isn’t gonna be easy no matter what but man, even thinking about getting a non-academic job is stressful

Honestly, from my own experience (pre-Covid), your best bet is going through http://publicjobs.ie every week (sort by date added) and you'll find good policy/admin jobs there that won't mark you down for your PhD - it's where I got the most success (not a job, but interviews)

The problem is finding a job that will sponsor a work visa though. Apparently not all will.
