Is there a good resource on alt-ac jobs in Ireland for history PhDs?
Civil service would be great, too bad I think I need to be an Irish citizen for that. Not sure about other public sector jobs. And yeah I know generally white collar jobs but I wonder if any businesses in particular like to hire PhDs I guess.

Although civil service needs citizenship (EU rather than Irish, I think, tho still not applicable in your case!), I think most other public sector stuff (local gov, semi-state etc.) only need a work permit. Private sector v much depends on individual company/hiring manager afaik

Ah I thought it had to be only Irish citizens. But yeah still not applicable for me. Private sector I have experience in from when I lived in Canada so I know how to navigate that to a degree.

I *think* -
@StephenHewer would know better - you have to be a citizen to get in through the big open calls for particular grades on http://publicjobs.ie but not when you're applying directly for a specific job. -
I know my partner works with some people who aren't citizens in the Public Service and her agency has its own hiring process.
