Thank You for reaching out @AdmiralHip Covid-19 has been here for months and we’ve had several meetings with @tcdlibrary planning for students return. All planning is strictly tied to government guidelines. Both @tcdsu and @TrinityGSU continue to do our best for all students.

Yeah I’m aware it’s been around for months. But I raised the issue with VP two weeks ago, and she has now deleted her tweets and I have yet to get and explanation. Also, why was it only students pressing college publicly? This just erases what we have been doing.

TCD posts a video that doesn’t say anything about masks, the library reopens without masks, little to no communication to us, whom you apparently represent, over reopening. Everything is secret and kept private while we all worry about our health and futures.

A union is supposed to be transparent and communicative to its members. No one has been here. And we have not felt like anyone was on our side while we have been pushing TCD for some answers about masks.

So thanks for the non response as to why you haven’t acknowledged us and what we have been doing here.

We at
@TrinityGSU were awaiting the publication of the new govt guidelines clarifying face coverings. I simply didn't want to second guess anything and thought it more prudent to wait for the updated govt info before sharing on my timeline with students.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Why did you respond how you did and then not provide an answer as to why you deleted your tweets? You could have just clarified. Instead we’re all out here demanded some public answers and we get nothing.

And we have gotten nothing all summer. Nothing about INIS extensions or reassurances about our safety. Stating the government advice doesn’t help when the advice for teaching is bad. It is bad advice.

We pushed for the masks. The government advice came, but we were speaking up publicly about this and now we’re being told that oh well, it was pointless since apparently it was all under control.

I think the frustration is - and always has been - a lack of transparency. If you do not know, please just say that. The silence and the feeling that we are overlooked or forgotten is worse than an honest answer of uncertainty. We feel this as PhDs at Trinity every day.

Exactly. We have no idea what conversations are being had, we don’t know what’s being said. We have a right to know. And we have a right to be acknowledged when we bring up these problems. Instead we have been ignored or brushed off.
