And that's before you start trying to distinguish tourist from resident; do you force anyone non-white or with a non-Irish accent to produce their visa or evidence of a home address? It quickly becomes unworkable.
here's the thing: the SU pres just did a video that TCD promoted where he talked about coming back to campus right now and there was nothing about masks, and when questioned they really didn't have an answer for why masks weren't advised. It makes me worried.

I completely understand the worry. It's a black box and everyone is being asked to just trust that they'll do the right/safe thing, which is super stressful. My point was that (G)SU messaging is important to a few 100 ppl who are active and irrelevant to other 16k students

I've only seen one video that mentions face coverings from TCD so far, and while I'd like to hope that they will be cautious about the whole thing, the fact that we haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone on mandatory masks isn't great.

And yeah the question of GSU reach is a good point, but this is the time for them to step up publicly and they really have not. It's very disappointing.
