I assume the rr in rRig is germination, and that would be the reason since I was under the impression that was a marker of early Old Irish, but my grasp of the grammar of OIr is pretty poor to be honest. Not sure if @ChronHib or @eDIL_Dictionary have any thoughts on this

The manuscript itself has, according to O Corrain and I believe also Thurneysen, a fair amount of early material. But as a non-linguist it is hard to justify this to readers.
