You going around and harassing people on an anon account you literally just created isn’t a good look. Like honestly, sincerely, fuck off and stop spreading speculation and harassing people.

Many people are questioning this. Maybe it is a misunderstanding, but she said she worked (or heavily implied) that they worked at ASU. No one else who works there knows who this is, and her tweets don’t line up with what happened at ASU with classes.

Hoaxes can do real damage, if it is one. If a staff member at ASU has passed away then it will be independently confirmed elsewhere.

You know what can also do real damage? Harassing people who are grieving from an anon account you made for that explicit purpose.

People who are grieving over the loss of a friend that ended up being a hoax is also incredibly damaging and manipulative.

I know that people want answers. But can we just like, show some basic human decency and wait even a few days and respect the fact that - the account being real or not - people are grieving right now?

Normally I would agree with you. But when the people who said they knew her won’t even answer a question about if she worked at ASU or not, things will start to fall apart regardless. And for people who work at ASU, then they would naturally want to know who it was.

That’s their colleague and maybe friend, so if they want to know who it is because they hadn’t heard it then I think they should be able to ask. But instead they get shut down or blocked.

I’m not necessarily talking about people at ASU who are (rightly) confused, concerned and looking for answers. I’m talking about accounts that seem to have no footing in this apart from being nosey or interested not giving people grieving necessary time and space.

I mean the people getting very involved seem to be directly invested as staff of ASU. I think that people who were friends with this person aren’t at fault but once the inconsistencies came out I don’t think much was going to stop it from going further.
