@PhDRights @AbhiswetaBhatt1 @TrinityGSU @tcdsu @TCDSU_President honestly, why are we even entertaining the idea of no masks? This is seriously dangerous and I am upset that TCD isn’t advocating masks and that the SU and GSU aren’t pushing for it either.

The science shows masks are necessary. This only puts people at risk, given what we know about asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic spread.

And considering we have had very little guidance on anything regarding next term. They’re expecting TAs and staff to teach in person. How do they expect that to happen? Social distancing isn’t the only thing needed here when we know it is airborne.

Our classrooms are cramped, poorly ventilated. No windows. I’m not going to be teaching without a mask or anyone who shows up without a mask, but how is that going to be enforced?

As we move closer and closer to the start of term and I’m seeing these tweets and emails, but really nothing about keeping the people who will actually be teaching/attending safe, it is so vicerally upsetting to me that I have to say something.

Classes should be online since that mitigates a lot of risk but if you’re gonna force people to come to campus then you had better do everything in your power to make people safe.
