We literally have to contend with racists, both out and out racists and stealth racists, within academia. Daily. They are everywhere, and they are the ones with institutional power and clout.
So I see these types of articles and think about how common sexism, racism, transphobia, and classism are rampant in my institution and previous places I've studied. Academia thrives on being a super secret elitist club run by the privileged in society.
I think my academic career thus far would have been 100% improved if it was actually run by leftists.
