I can't believe I have to keep saying this but the Irish aren't a race. Quit saying that there are racial slurs against the Irish. There are ethnic slurs but not RACIAL slurs. Quit trying to peddle some "the whites are victims of racism" schtick now.pic.twitter.com/GvPKPBAkyF

I should point out, for anyone coming to this thread cold. It all started when "Axel" decided to repeatedly call me "Paddywhack". Rather than simply apologize, she decided to take down the entire concept of Irishness. In order to legitimate, post-hoc, an ill-considered slur.

It’s not a slur, and you as a white dude do not experience racism. Also Irish isn’t a race.

I didn't even see this response until now. Yeah we were all playing off his tag and it had absolutely nothing to do with Irishness because I have no idea if he IS Irish and wouldn't use a slur against the Irish anyway, so his explanation is completely disingenuous.

Well I am and you did. I don't claim it was deliberate. But it was childish, and the grown up thing to do now would be to simply apologise and move on.

Oh please, stop trying to claim some ridiculous high ground. You busted into a conversation trying to justify “Anglo-Saxon” because of your ancestors then went on this whole nonsense about racism against Irish people. This is absurd.

And on top of that, even if this was childish (it isn’t), someone jumped to your defense by trying to dox Dr MRO, so if you actually cared about doing the right thing you’d have told him off for that. Instead you’re just digging your heels in.
