I can't believe I have to keep saying this but the Irish aren't a race. Quit saying that there are racial slurs against the Irish. There are ethnic slurs but not RACIAL slurs. Quit trying to peddle some "the whites are victims of racism" schtick now.pic.twitter.com/GvPKPBAkyF

I should point out, for anyone coming to this thread cold. It all started when "Axel" decided to repeatedly call me "Paddywhack". Rather than simply apologize, she decided to take down the entire concept of Irishness. In order to legitimate, post-hoc, an ill-considered slur.

That's a pretty mild slur, at worst. There is definitely ethnic prejudice against those who are Irish. But that, that doesn't seem like it.

I claim no expertise on the severity of the slur. I was simply noting that the context of this apparently abstract debate over Irishness was an attempt to excuse some playground-level name-calling, rather than an ex-nihilo decision to examine the topic.

This isn’t a debate on Irishness. Irish isn’t a race, that is some like 19th c/early 20th c pseudoscience shit.
