Is everything a fight? Love is deep and difficult to describe. It’s from the core and I don’t know how to defend innocence and love.

Seriously?! Rather than own your shit you’re going full Marianne Williamson?! (Who ironically would totally have owned her shit if this was actually her)

I'm a woman, one of the only Black women in the field. As a medievalist I'm asking for everyone in our field to do better and if that means calling a racist a racist, explicitly, that's what we need to do. We can't shift the field or our world without speaking these truths.

I think you should apologize and own up to your responses to Dr MRO here, instead of talking about innocence and love or whatever. Allyship isn't about love.

What is an ally then? I genuinely don’t know and am happy to hold my hands up. Please. I am trying to help.

There are so many resources out there about what allyship is, and what it means to be an ally. But like, number one is that allyship isn't something white people get to declare for themselves. Best way I heard it was that it is a verb, not a noun.

You practice allyship, you don't say you're an ally. So first of all, if BIPOC or BAME people are saying that you are personally doing them harm with your responses then don't accuse them of piling on. Don't deflect and say not all white women.

Don't centre yourself in discussions of racism. And read, research, do your own work and don't rely on others to tell you where you're wrong.
