In 2015, I published a note on a parallel between Durham Proverb 7 and Pseudo-Bedae's Collectanea in Notes & Queries; in 2019, someone else publishes a note on the same "previously unnoticed parallel" in the SAME journal!?pic.twitter.com/xQMZH3tYPI

I just read it and the substantive part is complete duplication. Either N&Q or EW should retract this article. I'm amazed that neither the author nor the peer reviewer have read your work—it isn't like there's a huge amount to read on the Durham Proverbs and the Collectanea.
Well since Erik actually wrote it in 2012 as per his replies, maybe he should just make some corrections? The author acknowledged where he was in error, this response is completely ridiculous.
No, let's assume he has no ethics and is a plagiarizer. Let's run with that. You know who has no ethics? People who make claims like he's lying before the man even has a chance to say anything.
Even Guy didn't jump on that bandwagon, so I mean that's good at least. His theory was funny as hell. I wish it were true too.
@ISASaxonists I haven't accused anyone of lying or plagiarism, so don't straw-man me.
"complete duplication" yeah that's you accusing him of plagiarism.
It is literally duplicated in substance. This is a factual statement. They duplicated each other's research.
You were clearly meaning something malicious, given what you said with the rest of your tweet.
The rest of my tweet says that it is amazing that neither EW nor the editor/proofer spotted that the same thing had been published 4 years before. That's not malicious, it's true.
Well if you read Erik's replies, you'll see how that happened.
