For those here who eat oatmeal/porridge (they are the same, don’t @ me), what do you prefer?

Interesting to see how many of you are wrong.

I’ll never understand milk in oatmeal, or adding the liquid and oats together and bringing it to a boil. Both result in oatmeal that has the consistency of wet concrete.

I do love rolled oats. I never had steel cut until I was an adult and I find the texture to be very strange.

But I always hate having other people make my oatmeal for these reasons because it ends up gloppy and like...almost like bread dough that’s too wet. It’s not creamy, you can get creamy oatmeal by adding some more water and not boiling it all off.

Anyway lockdown has made me share my hot oatmeal takes I guess.

You are extremely wrong about the water. Oatmeal should be made with milk. Also you should add brown sugar and raisins.

Milk in oatmeal is a crime and I have never liked it. Also raisins are bad and I can’t eat them anyway unfortunately. I do add a lot of cinnamon and sugar though.
