I know it's a learning curve, but learning to crochet after being pretty good at knitting is frustrating because my brain is going "It's wool, you're meant to be good at this!". I am producing some hat. A little at a time.

Yes! Every time I think I've got my head around that, I watch another video and it's a different way. And I don't yet have the knowledge/experience to tell what's different-wrong, vs different-personal taste vs different-situational.

Same here. Also, very different terminology between the UK/Ireland and North America, to the point of serious confusion (double crochet can be two different things).
