My genius argument against FIL washing veggies with soap: If we all get diarrhea from the soap our toilet paper stash will be depleted and we'd be forced to use his books to wipe our butts.

I'm using 7th gen brand dish soap to wash veggies. It rinses well & will NOT give you diarrhea. Salmonella sure will tho. I've never had food poisoning from my own salad. Leave this man's books alone. Good luck.pic.twitter.com/bCzi2IHKkk

Don’t clean your vegetables with soap. If you’re worried about salmonella, soap isn’t going to get rid of it. https://www.livescience.com/do-not-wash-fruits-vegetables-with-soap.html …

I’ve never gotten salmonella or e.coli from salad either and plain water works. If you really want to avoid food poisoning then don’t eat raw vegetables and just cook them.

I’m repeating what several doctors, the FDA, and food microbiologists are saying.
