Should I keep my groceries in the garage or on the porch for 3 days? This is patently ridiculous. Are you really going to keep your milk, your ice cream, your deli meats outside for three days? (6/33)
For anything that’s cooked, the virus won’t survive cooking temperatures. I’m not really sure what people are eating out of containers that they are so worried will touch the outsides? You should be washing your hands before you eat anyway.

I don't think the food will touch the outside of the container, but your hands do and then they contaminate anything you touch. Plus the container contaminates everything it touches. 5 people in the house, pretty much a deadly virus on a container will escape all over the house.

You get sick from the virus being an aerosol and getting into your eyes or nose. If it’s just on a surface then washing your hands before you eat should be fine. Just move the food to a new container if you are worried.
