The thing about all the water hauling and hay bale slinging is that I am, unmistakably, putting on muscle. Being physically powerful despite the chronic pain bullshit is a new and interesting feeling.

I kinda like it, not gonna lie. I'm probably never going to be all cut - I've got an eating disorder and counting calories and otherwise restricting my eating is a quick way to get really unhealthy for me.

But odds are really good I am going to wind up with a delightfully functional, if painful, body. I should start doing stretches to maintain flexibility.

...I should have had the foresight to go into isolation with a massage therapist though

Anyway it is also soothing to my weird gender feels. Maybe I'll do some push ups later.

I hear this. I tried to bulk up a bit last year and I was, which felt great after developing chronic pain a few years ago. But I didn’t keep it up after Xmas and now the gyms are closed and I don’t have any weights I can use.

Yeah and it's a little late to take up sheep farming. There's always bodyweight exercises like push ups!

True, but my rotator cuffs are messed up atm and my lower back is so weak that push ups are just not viable for me unfortunately. But body weight exercises are a good idea.

Planks to help lower back, honestly - be sure you're using your abs to support yourself, not your back! I have one fucked up rotator cuff so I end up doing push ups on my knees or against the wall

I’ve heard some conflicting stuff about planks, they’ve never been helpful for me when I was doing rehab for my injuries, I find they end up being painful as I can’t maintain the abdominal strength. However, I have found that the glute bridge Pilates move works well for me.

My problems partially stem from a hip injury so I was told I have to strengthen my butt first. It’s really just working up the motivation to do it now.
